I’ve just restarted using Anki yesterday and changed my deck settings to learning steps: 15m, 1d, 6d.
This morning when reviewing cards that I had learned for the first time yesterday, the next review time associated with “good” was “1 day” - I was expecting this to be 6 days. I did the first 15 min step yesterday, and I completed the 1 day this morning. So why is the review time associated with pressing good stuck at “1 day” again?
In all likelihood, your settings are fine. There are a few reasons this can appear to happen anyway –
Are you mistaking one card for another or do you have duplicate notes?
Are you being careful about syncing between devices?
Have you recently changed your learning steps while you had cards in Learn?
It would help to see the Card Info for this card to know for sure. (See the AnkiMobile manual for where to find that, and on a small screen, you may need to screenshot it in landscape mode to get all of the data. https://docs.ankimobile.net/)
That will do it. If you have cards in Learn, that change can cause learning steps to be skipped or repeated. The cards that were in Learn when this happened will shake this off after you study them a couple more times.
If you have a large number of cards in Learn that are impacted by this, and you don’t want to wait – you can either “Reset” the cards to New (and they will start over with your current learning steps), or “Set Due Date” to graduate the cards to Review.
(a) How confident are you that you always synced at the start and end of every session, on every device, during these last few days? [I can see this card was only created on 1 Sept.]
(b) What were your old learning steps? [I can see that your new ones are 15m 1d 6d.]
(c) Did you make the change to your learning steps between the 1 Sept evening study and the 2 Sept morning study?
(d) Can you tell me how many cards you had in Learn when you changed the learning steps – or even how many cards you have in Learn now, since it’s so recent? Search for is:learn -is:suspended -is:review "preset:Ali Recommended MRCP" in the Browse window.
a) probably 80% sure
b) old were very similar - 15m 1d 6d I think
c) this I’m not sure about
d) 158 cards in learn now, I would estimate 50 at the time
