Running into a sync issue with my Anki Mac that started today, the issue reads:
A network error occurred.
Error details: error sending request for url ()
And also reports AnkiHub Sync Cancelled afterwards.
I’ve tried using my phone hotspot and home network. I am using the latest Anki Version (24.11) and am on mac Ventura 13.2.1 (22D68).
I’ve tried to resolve this by turning off all addons, restarting Anki, restarting my computer, and checking my computer firewall (off) but nothing has seemed to work. None of the other threads I’ve seen on this topic have given a next step to resolve this that I haven’t mentioned above, I’d love any help in navigating this!
A network error occurred.
Error details: error sending request for url ()
is actually the full error.
There is an older thread on this that suggest the problem to be proxy settings:
I guess you considered proxy settings already? If not please check those too. Otherwise, I don’t have any ideas either. The problem must be some kind of connection blocker somewhere between your computer and the AnkiWeb server.
I was not using any proxy settings to my knowledge which is why the issue was a bit challenging. It turned out that updating my OS actually fixed the problem completely (now Sequoia 15.2 (24C101)). Thank you!
I’m unable to update to Sequoia 15.2; my laptop has Intel Core processer, and the update is only available for apple silicon versions. Day before yesterday, I restarted my wifi box but that still hasn’t helped me sync.
Hi! My anki’s finally started working again after 2 days (I started using ankiweb for a while because my exams are coming up). I didn’t use the app for that period of time and it’s just magically started working again!
@buninader Have you checked if the issue your proxy or firewall that was mentioned earlier in this thread, if you have either? Otherwise, I’m afraid I don’t have any other ideas why Windows 10 would be having this issue. Possibly an OS update could fix it too?
