I have been recording my voice for flashcards on AnkiDroid.
And it functions well when I use my phone only.
However, I just found out on my AnkiWeb, the recordings won’t show up even though the path is still there, e.g. [sound:ankidroid_audiorec2277888873762504832.3gp]
So I guess, all the recordings are stored in my phone, but I can’t find them anywhere in my phone.
My questions are:
How to find the recordings in my phone ?
How do I solve this issue if I want to change my phone?
I assume you mean that when you study the card in AnkiWeb, the audio isn’t playing? I don’t think that means the file isn’t there. It’s more likely a card template issue, or a filetype-support issue.
Unfortunately, you can’t access your collection.media directly on AnkiDroid. Google Play policies changed, and AnkiDroid had to move to a restricted storage location.
The recordings are still stored in your collection, and synced to AnkiWeb. (I can see that example file in your collection on AnkiWeb.) They are also syncing to your other devices, which you can see when you look at that note/card in your Windows Anki install.
You can run Check Media on both devices to see that the results match and that file doesn’t show up as “unused” or “missing” – AnkiDroid: 3-dots menu, desktop: Tools menu. Also, on Windows, you can access your collection.media directly – Managing Files - Anki Manual .
is it possible to solve the filetype-support issue and play audio on AnkiWeb, since there isn’t even an arrow there for playing audio?
I have download the desktop version and the recordings can be synced and work with the desktop version. I just don’t know if I changed my phone, will those recordings and images automatically be saved to my AnKi desktop version or AnkiWeb.
The only way those files got from your phone to your computer is through AnkiWeb. If Check Media gives the same result on both devices, then both devices have the same media.
It might be – but are you planning to study on AnkiWeb? If not, there’s no point in putting in that effort. AnkiWeb will sync the files just fine, even if it can’t play them through its interface.
