Unable to login on desktop app or iphone app

I downloaded the desktop app a few days ago and built a deck. Today I downloaded the paid IOS app to be able to study on the go. I didn’t realise that I hadn’t set up an Anki account at any point so I went back to the desktop app to sync. It told me to set up an account and I followed the link and the instructions. The desktop app doesn’t recognise my account. I can’t therefore put my deck built on the desktop into the app, or into the browser version. I have restarted my computer and I am definitely entering the password correctly.

  1. Are you sure the email is also correct? There have been reports of users in the past that misspelled their email during login.
  2. Is logging in working in your internet browser or does it also not work there?

Yes the email is correct. Yes it works in the browser.

Things to try:

Carefully re-enter the email address and password into the Anki desktop app. Type them in manually. Do not cut and paste, to avoid possibly pasting in extra invisible characters into the email/password fields accidentally.

Consider whether your desktop computer might be running firewall, VPN, or proxy programs that could be affecting the Anki desktop app’s connection to the internet.

Try logging into your AnkiWeb account on the AnkiMobile iOS app. This would verify whether you are using the correct email address and password.
