"Type answer" function isn't working

Function type:answer hasn’t been working since this morning. I use Anki in Italian for Apple (Macbook and iPad). If I select type card “Basilare (digita la risposta)”, —> Basic (digit answer), this type is operating no more. As a result, the old notes in this type aren’t working too.

How can I act?

What does that mean? Tell us step by step what happens and what you expected to happen.

These are my steps:

1. A new note - Entry in type card: Basic digit Answer

   

2. Studying - No more fields to write the answer

4. This isn’t “Type answer” card. It seems a normal basic card.

I also tried using the Anki tips in:

but it doesn’t work, as well.

I have a lot of notes in "Basic (digit answer)”. I haven’t be able to use them for ten hours.
I don’t know what happened.

Since it doesn’t look like you’ve made many other changes to this note type, try restoring it to the default –

– in the upper right “Options” of the “Cards…” window where you see the templates.

I hope it wasn’t some addon that messed things up for you. It’s usually recommended to rename the card type and then recreate it with the old name. But you can also change the template; I showed the code above; it’s simple.

You looked at the right place (Field Replacements - Anki Manual). You need to add type: in front of the field, in your case like this: {{type:Retro}}.

But the front template (Modello fronte) is where you should be looking for the change. This back template has {{FrontSide}}, so it will work just fine if you have the correct things on the front.

Or else – this is just a Basic (Basilare) note type that you renamed to “Basilare (digita la risposta)” – and Anki is restoring it to its Basic defaults.
