Stops responding when i try to add a new card

I am using the Anki web app on Windows, Downloaded the latest version and when i try yo add a new note an app stops responding. Cannot even force quit. I have to restart my laptop. Can you advise what i need to trouble shoot?

That doesn’t make sense. Programs cannot ignore SIGKILL signals. How did you try to kill anki?

So from what i was reading I am experiencing windows display issues. However, the video driver is set on Software and the issues persist

DO you mean the other drivers?
I cleaned the app cache, and reinstalled, and seems to work significantly better but still after few clicks i have to force quit and start again. I will play and see if the app works better with the rest of the video drivers .

Yes. You should try all of them, and restart after each switch.

Thanks for the tip. I tried all and it seems it works best with Direct 3D( which also is the default) but would still be unresponsive occasionally, but much better then when i first started

Now that you’ve landed on a video driver – try safe mode again too (see the Troubleshooting Checklist linked above). An issue can be multiple issues in disguise, so it’s best to rule out add-ons as a factor.

Are you using a Qt5 or Qt6 build? Help > About > Copy debug info.

Using Qt6, and i only have two add-ons: Speed focus mode and extended editor.
When i hold the shift key and try to open the app, the decks won’t even load

When i start Anki in safe mode the screen will look something like this

Basically, the yellow part is not visible, like it didn’t load properly.
This happens in safe mode.

When i start the app the normal way an issue that i would have is when i want to go back and maybe make a change to a flashcard, the browse will work properly few time but eventually stops and the field where you can make edit is not visible

Any ideas why this is happening?

Looks like some webviews are failing to load.
Can you run Anki from the console and post the output?
