A few months ago I created one large deck along with other decks for my other subjects. I have an account and I was under the impression that they all synced to ankiweb. However, my computer broke 2 months ago, and my laptop was wiped so I cannot find it in my files. So, I redownloaded anki and logged in to find ALL my decks were synced but one. I can not find that deck on my laptop, app, or ankiweb. I am confused why only one is not there and how it could be lost if the rest were synced and they were made around the same time. Please let me know if there is something that can do done!
What dae meant is: if you had multiple profiles on your computer (the one that broke), then that might explain why a deck is missing.
The ankiweb account is associated with a single profile only; so let’s say you had profile A and profile B. Profile A was associated with your ankiweb account and synced. Profile B wasn’t set up with any account. Now, because your computer broke, there is no way to access the deck from Profile B because it wasn’t synced.
That makes sense. I did not make another profile because I did not have to switch profiles to study the deck unless I did it by accident. Could there be any other explanation or solution?
I can see that you created your AnkiWeb account in March 2025 – but were you syncing with it regularly after that? If you synced at the start, but then not during the months when you were creating that other deck, AnkiWeb wouldn’t have a copy of it.
However – are you sure that the material is missing, and not in another deck? Have you searched for the material in Browse? Have you run Tools > Check Database to make sure nothing is hiding?
