Missing subcategories in mobile version?

good evening, i have a problem: i downloaded “Ankiphil” for my dental studies, it is a deck specifically designed to correspond to the “Amboss” topics, which is a different app. Therefore you can learn different topics first and them question yourself with the corresponding deck for the topic. Now my problem is: There are absolutely no subcategories for the mobile version in comparison to the normal one. Therefore If I click Biology, for instance, i just get a random question to a random topic, and i cannot start with the first subtopic! In the normal version, however, you have the different subtopics and can click on the first one, for example. I don’t know why and how I can fix this issue?? I really want it to be like this in the mobile version as well, because otherwise its completely useless. I cant just learn random things without having any pre knowledge. I asked other people, but nobody is really helping me, or has an answer. The only thing i found is that you can hide all topics on the normal version if you have a laptop and then only show the topic you want to learn and then it synchronizes with your IPad, I haven’t tried it, because i don’t have a Laptop and it would be more beneficial If I would just have the subcategories just like in the regular version. Its really unfortunate that I paid almost 30€ and there are no subcategories. I hope someone can help me :frowning:

There are no such things named “subcategories” or “subtopics” in Anki itself. Did you instead mean a Parent Deck containing a hierarchical tree of “Subdecks”?

If so, then in AnkiMobile on the Decks page you can just press the “+” to the left of a Parent Deck name to toggle its Subdecks to be exposed. You can then click on a Subdeck name to review just that individual Subdeck.

It’s not clear if you mean subdecks or if you mean Tags – which have a similar hierarchy to decks/subdecks. Both of them work just fine in AnkiMobile, so we just need to know which path to send you down.

That might mean suspending cards? And you can do that in AnkiMobile as well. For a lot of those huge medical decks, the default method is to suspend everything and then un-suspend cards that apply to what you’re learning so you can start introducing them.

Sorry for the miscommunication, what i mean can be seen in these pictures, my friend has the version on her laptop, and also downloaded Ankiphil and now when she clicks on biology, for example she has these different subcategories that I meant, for example “Die Zelle” or even a smaller topic on this topic: “Zellkontakte” . As you can see on my picture I don’t have these subtopics in biology. I just have biology and when I click on it it’s just random questions of the topics mixed together. There is no clear division in the topics, and i don’t understand why. Thank you for your help!

If you look at the top of each of those sections in the sidebar, you can tell which is which –

To more easily navigate/search for Tags in AnkiMobile – open Browse, click the “Filter” button in the top bar [1], and start typing the name of the tag.
