This is my first time posting and I’m in a crisis. A few hours ago, I reviewed a few hundred cards on ankiweb and then I came home to find that my desktop anki was asking for a sync. Without thinking, I pressed upload to ankiweb and now all my progress has been overwritten on both devices. Also, I’ve tried to select a backup on my desktop Anki from 20 minutes ago, but it didn’t change anything cause my work was on my phone. Is there any way to reverse this issue? @dae I’ve seen that you help around here with this, sorry for disturbing you!
If the only place that review history existed was on AnkiWeb (the website) – and you overwrote that with a one-way sync that uploaded your local collection to AnkiWeb – then I’m sorry to tell you that there is no way to recover it.
AnkiWeb makes server-side backups only periodically (not anywhere near as often as local devices make backups). The last backup of your account was created 5 days ago – which isn’t the version you’d want in order to recover something that happened a few hours ago.
