Latest anki. Font size becomes extremely small. Zoom changes doesn't help

Latest Anki (version below)
After app installation, the font size is ok. After the second app launch, it becomes extremely small for the main context, but normal for the menu (File, Edit, View, …).

Using zoom do not change font size for buttons Decks, Add, Browse, etc. And for Browser main text
Option from Troubleshooting - Anki Manual doesn’t help
Video driver changes don’t help
User Interface size to 200% makes the main text readable, but the menu font becomes huge, and Browser is unusable
Fresh reinstall without addons does not help

Do we have some options to fix that?

What happens if you click View > Reset Zoom in the main window?

Edit: The Browse Window has that menu as well. So if the above works, try it for the browse window too.
Edit 2: The browse Window looks more like you had changed the font size in browser Appearance (Styling & HTML - Anki Manual) though. Maybe check that as well.

If I understand you correctly, it’s about CSS in Anki cards
I checked with a completely fresh re-install without any card, addons, custom settings
Result is the same

If I missed something please let me kno

Checked options with this .env variables

// test.bat
set ANKI_NOHIGHDPI=1

set ANKI_WEBSCALE=2

start “Anki” “%LocalAppData%\Programs\Anki\anki.exe”

This helps to change size of buttons Decks, Add, Browse
But Browse text still unsusable

Right, so essentially you did this: Text Size - Anki Manual.

If it’s just that, let’s do the Browser Appearance I mentioned above.
Steps:

  1. Open Browse.
  2. Click “Cards…”.
  3. Click “Options” (the one at the very top, right side).
  4. Choose “Browser Appearance”.
  5. In that window, select “Override font” and choose a font-size.
  6. Then Click okay and save.

Could you clarify step 3 ?
I click Browse > Cards
But don’t see “Options”

It’s “Cards…” (with the three dots). You can find it above your fields and below your card table.

Well, that’s a weird description, but you should see something like this:

Edit: And if you don’t, then click on one of your cards in the card table first.

If you have time, do we have any option to change the text size in UI?
These buttons and the right sidebar are still tiny in comparison to windows menu (buttons Edit, View, …, HyperTTS)

Should I create an issue in Github? Check something on OS side? Maybe find a way to use Qt5?
Also Anki 2.1.49 worked without all these issues, maybe it can be a clue

No, let’s wait for others here to see your question. Maybe they know more.

Not sure. Maybe check if your OSes font size is very small?

No. Qt5 isn’t recommended anymore, because it doesn’t receive security updates. And the Anki version that still supported qt5 is quite old as well, meaning you’d be missing a lot of other bug fixes, security updates and new features that anki had included thus far.

AAAAAAA! I have found the root cause!

In the Win env, variables were set to values like QT_NOHIGHDPI=0
I have no idea which app sets this value, but when it was removed, all issues were gone!

Exact variable name was

QT_ENABLE_HIGHDPI_SCALING=0
