Japanese Keyboard Does Not Allow Selection Between Characters

Upon updating to Version ⁨2.1.54 (b6a7760c)⁩/Python 3.9.7 Qt 6.3.1 PyQt 6.3.1, the Japanese Keyboard no longer works correctly. When typing a series of syllables that can be represented by different characters (e.g., ‘noki’ can be “宇”, “の木”, “軒”, etc.), normally the user can hit the space bar (or tab in some applications) to toggle between options. In this version of Anki, toggling simply does not work, and the appropriate characters cannot be selected. The only workaround is to type in another application and cut-and-paste into Anki.

It seems to work for me on a 12.5 M1 machine.

I reinstalled, and no longer had the issue… download must’ve gotten corrupted.
