Hey everyone. I am having difficulty typing accents on Anki using my Mac. Usually I just hold down the letter key, select the numbered option and the accented character appears. When I try this in Anki, the letter followed by the same letter with the chosen accent appears. Has anybody else had this issue/ anyone know what to do to solve it? Thanks.
This is a known issue with software Anki depends on, see e.g. Typing accents in macOS. Personally, I defined text replacements for symbols and characters I use often with a third party tool, you can do this using system preferences → keyboard without extra software as well. (Replace text and punctuation in documents on Mac - Apple Support)
E.g. type alpha# and get α.
