iPad - hide and show remaining count as a shortcut

Is it possible to have a shortcut for hiding and showing the remaining count. At the minute it’s buried in the menu’s.

Thanks!

Would you mind explaining your use case in more detail? Why do you want to turn that setting on and off regularly?

Yeah, so when I have a lot of cards due in the deck, I find physiologically I prefer not to see how many are left and just churn through them. But it’s such a pain to do this and then switch back, that I currently have to just try and not look in that particular place

By the way I am a veteran,.I have been using Anki for almost 13 years. My current workload is 1-2 hours every day and I think I have a problem  never mind Alcoholics Anonamous I think one day I will need to go to Anki Anonymous :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Thank you for elaborating; I’ll keep an eye on demand for this. An alternative you might want to consider for now is to set your daily review limits to some value around your average daily reviews. That avoids the shock of high numbers, and doesn’t need to be updated too frequently. It’ll also automatically taper off new cards as you approach the limits.

13 years is an impressive feat - well done on staying consistent for so long!

I did have a previous deck where I limited the number of daily reviews. But I ended up in “review runaway” with a huge number of due cards (about 2000!). Every time I got one wrong it wouldn’t test me for 6-7 days (meaning I was likely to get it wrong again), and thus became a cycle of doom that was impossible to escape from. So I try to avoid it if at all possible!

It’s not a fully turn-key solution - obviously if you’re consistently hitting your limits, things are going to build up if you don’t tweak the limit or increase the amount of cards you’re getting through.
