Quick toggle to disable "new" cards?

Is there a way / option / toggle to quickly disable new cards on particular day/learning session?

  1. Editing deck options and setting it to 0 is a bit cumbersome
  2. Creating filtered deck (akin to How to get New cards only, not the Due cards) seems kinda convoluted (not much better than the first option

Apart from using shortcuts, I don’t think you have anything faster than your first option.

Eh… it’s a shame. Though long term it’s rare so (1) seems to be the most sensible compromise/workaround…

It’s unlikely to be faster.

Setting a “Today only” limit in Deck Options is pretty quick. It also retains the limit you set it to last time, so if you’re always setting it to 0, you can do it in about 3 clicks – Deck Options > “Today only” > Save.

Well… luckily in the last couple of days I’ve been doing a lot of “spring cleaning” (had like gazzilion of note types and deck options) and went down to actually 2 deck options (and one of them is used by 99%) of the decks so it’s easier. But like 2 weeks ago I had 10 deck options and it would be more difficutl

Though my idea were one-clikc-overview-screen-button/toggle “disable new cards” that would save me those 3 clicks

Maybe someone will want to make an add-on for this?

But it’s unlikely that will be added to the main screen or study screen in Anki, because as a setting, it really belongs in the Deck Options. That’s where you set the limit, and that’s where you should go to toggle it off.

I’ll move this over to the “Suggestions” category so it can stay open for feedback.

(doesn’t starting a post in help and moving to suggestions still close it after 30 days?)

Not when I remove the close timer.

Thank you. I’ll see if I’ll take a dab on it (though, yesterday was one-off in my current enthusiastic learning phase so fingers crossed I won’t need it  )
