my anki cards are not showing up on my anki web and anki mobile app. I have tried logging out on the desktop app and website to re sync, but nothing works. My anki web just can’t show any of my pictures.
You wrote that the “images” were not showing up on AnkiWeb. But, you also wrote that it was the “cards” that were not showing up. Which is it?
Could you please clarify what behaviors are you seeing?
- It is that the cards get uploaded successfully, and it is only that the media is missing?
- Is it that nothing is getting uploaded, including both cards and media?
- Are the media files actually missing? Or, is it that the media files are there but just not appearing on your cards correctly?
- Or, do you mean something else?
Please double-check to see whether you are using the same AnkiWeb account on both the website and your desktop app. Frequently this symptom is seen by users who accidentally use 2 different AnkiWeb accounts.
The cards are all getting uploaded successfully but only the pictures aren’t showing up. The media files are there.
When you look at your cards on the AnkiWeb website, do you see the “broken image” icon that normally appears when image files are missing? Or, are the cards just blank where the images are supposed to be?
And, could you please confirm, the images do appear correctly on the cards when you view them on the Anki desktop app, correct?
Please pick one specific note/card that is experiencing this problem. We’ll use that one note as our example for testing.
- On your desktop Anki app, please use the Browse window to look at the example card.
- Above to the field that holds the image, press the “<>” button to toggle the HTML editor.
- What are the contents of the field, as shown in the HTML editor? (For example, on one of my cards, I see
<img src="cat.jpg">.)

- What type of desktop computer are you using, Windows, Mac, Linux, or something else?
- What is the version of the OS on your desktop?
- What is the version of the desktop Anki app?
