Error with type in card version

When I went to do my Anki revision, my card type has completely changed from the type in version to the default version, now when I try to revise it shows me the answer as before the front would be asking for a definition for example and id have to type in my answer and it would show me the answer, but now my front part of the card is deleted and it only shows the back part as the front and now all my cards have changed and I cannot change it back, I tried to change all to the type in version but it says its already in the type in version but its not it doesn’t give me a box to type it in

The template has probably changed (I wonder how this even happened…).

You can change the template to the default:

  • Open the note editor with the type-in note type selected.
  • Click on “Cards…”.
  • Change the front template to
    {{Front}}
{{type:Back}}
  • Change the back template to
    {{Front}}
<hr id=answer>
{{type:Back}}
  • Save the changes.
