all of my basic cards are showing basic type in the answer. The issue is not the same on Anki Web. i have tried deleting the app and reinstalling.
It sounds like that note type has been edited to add that. If you didn’t edit it yourself, or rename a note type – it’s likely you imported a deck that had a modified note type.
There’s a couple ways to fix it – but it depends on exactly how you got here.
- What is the exact name of the note type? Is it “Basic” (without anything else after it like ++++ or -asdf1234)? Or something else? [That tells us whether you need to fix your default type.]
- Do you want to change this for every note that uses this note type? [If so, you can edit this one, if not you’ll need to make a separate note type.]
Hi, I made the cards myself. They were fine until a week ago I was going through the cards and noticed all the “Basic” cards were telling me to type in the answer.
It’s totally fixable – but I either have to give you a bunch of different possibilities for how to do it, or I need to know the answers to those questions.
The card type is the standard “Basic” type and I would like to make changes to all of the cards with this issue .
- Make sure all of your devices are in sync before you start
- To open your templates – Notes > Manage note types > select “Basic” > Cards
- Look on the front template for a field replacement that looks like
{{type:NameOfField}}
– remove thetype:
part - Save
