I have read the manual, and it mentions an option to deselect “Reschedule cards based on my answers in this deck”, but that option is not on iOS at least. So, would reviewing forgotten cards affect my algorithm or not? Maybe this option was not implemented on iOS, in which case I think it needs to be.
Yes, just like on desktop Anki, all of the “Custom Study” premade filters (except for “Preview”) will reschedule the cards when you study them and “affect the algorithm” in that sense. Filtered Decks - Anki Manual
If you want to turn that off for any “Custom Study Session” (or Filtered deck) you create, you do that the same way as on desktop too. If you open the “Study Options” for that session/deck, you’ll find all of the ways you can modify the deck, including turning off “Reschedule” – Study Tools - AnkiMobile Manual .
Ah okay, I had to go deeper to find it then. Seems like “Reschedule” is disabled by default at least. Thank you!
No, it’s enabled by default – except when the option you select is a “Preview” only. See the rest of the page at the 1st link above.
