Ankiweb is not working after multiple syncs

I spent hours trying to figure out why when I upload data to anki web, it doesn’t download on my iphone. I tried several times to upload from my laptop and download on my phone. The phone keeps downloading old information from somewhere because the number of reviews are not correct. They are correct on my laptop and desktop, but not on my phone. Why is this happening?! Please someone help as I would like to resume my studies. I have the latest version of anki on my phone and the application on the computer.

The behavior you describe sounds as if you might be using different AnkiWeb accounts on your laptop and phone Anki apps. That would be the first thing to check.

Different accounts is my first guess as well.

After that –

  1. Where are you looking (what screens, what figures) and seeing different numbers of reviews? Is this about how many Review cards are due, or about how many reviews you’ve done? Are the numbers different by a little or by a lot?
  2. Which of your devices matches what you see when you view your collection on AnkiWeb directly – https://ankiweb.net/decks ?
  3. When you say you’ve tried “to upload from my laptop and download on my phone” – does that mean you’re manually forcing a one-way sync, and selecting those directions on each device? Or are you just pressing Sync and syncing normally?
  4. Do you have good syncing habits – meaning that you sync when you open the app on a device, and when you close the app on that device, every time? If you have changes happening on both devices at the same time, you may be creating sync conflicts and leaving your data in an inconsistent state.

1.My laptop/desktop are showing differently from my phone. Yes the Review cards are due. On my desktop/laptop it says I have 3 reviews and on my phone it says 21. I don’t know where the discrepancy is coming from. I tried deleting the subdeck from anki web and downloading again and it did not fix the issue. I also tried to disable the add ons to see if that had something to do with it, but nothing.

  2. I force a one way sync from my desktop initially (upload to Ankiweb), then downloaded it on my laptop and phone. It’s just my phone that is not downloading my reviews correctly. I noticed when I went to do the flashcards on my phone and it was stuff that I recently saw. Also, edits do not transfer to my phone at all. If I make an edit on my phone, it doesn’t go to the laptop. I tried pressing sync a couple of times on my phone after I had the option to download from anki web.

  3. I think it could be better. I honestly don’t know what happened, it worked fine and I started using anki again recently and then now the phone doesn’t want to update to reflect the laptop and desk top.

In AnkiMobile and AnkiWeb, on the main Decks list, there are only 2 counters. The green counter includes the Review cards, and the Learn/Relearn cards – which are separated on the red counter in desktop Anki. Does that account for the difference?

Yes this does account for the difference. I also received this information when I opened Anki on my laptop. It said that Anki encountered a problem:

Is there an add-on I should delete? Everything updated already when it promoted me that there were new updates available. How come when I make edits on my phone or laptop/desk, I can’t see the edits on the other device
