AnkiWeb Deletion Email - multiple accounts?

I have received an email regarding deletion of my AnkiWeb account, even though I use my decks and sync them everyday. Whenever I log onto AnkiHub on the web, none of my decks are there. I am not sure if I have multiple accounts under one email or how I can combine them into one. I do not want any of my self made cards deleted and not sure what to do. Any help please!

I realized I have a different AnkiHub and AnkiWeb emails that Ive been using. Is there a way to sync everything to one?

Let’s clear something up first – AnkiWeb and AnkiHub are separate services that do separate things. Your accounts with each are separate, and it doesn’t matter whether you use the same email address for both.

  • AnkiWeb allows you to sync your data between devices and to study online. When you sync between Anki (any version) and AnkiWeb, your entire collection is synced – your notes, decks, cards, tags, flags, media, review history, etc.
  • AnkiHub is a deck-sharing/updating service. When you sync between Anki (desktop only) and AnkiHub, the only things that “sync” (as far as I know …) are updates in the content of notes from subscribed decks – nothing from the rest of your collection and none of your progress/review history.

You can see what AnkiWeb account you’re syncing your collection with by checking Preferences > Syncing. Make sure all of your devices are syncing to the same AnkiWeb account.

Did you look at what email address that was sent to? Does it match the email address in your Syncing settings? I suspect it doesn’t.

  • I see an AnkiWeb account connected with the address you used to post here. It was created in August 2025, has hardly any data, has only synced with AnkiMobile, and hasn’t been used since October 2025. This is probably the account that is pending deletion.

  • But I see a different AnkiWeb account that might be your active one. It was created in November 2023, has a large collection, and has synced with both AnkiMobile and desktop Anki as recently as today.

[While you’re thinking about this, you should run Check Media > Delete Unused Media on one of your devices and sync those changes. You’ve got over 8 GB of media in your account, and if that’s not all needed, you’ll save your devices and AnkiWeb the trouble of keeping that in sync.]

I recommend that you go to your AnkiWeb account settings page, make sure you’re logged into the account you’re not using, and Remove Account. Then you can delete those credentials from your browsers and saved passwords, and you’ll avoid this confusion in the future.
