So I am using Anki on my phone as well as on my Mac and while actually everything works fine I tried to sync and now it is saying that I need to sync my account on anki web in order to be able to synchronize my decks. However, when I tried to log in on ankiweb.net, the platform said that I don’t have an account. Hence, why I am currently unable to sync anything and I am confused because I have an anki account or at least had one before the website told me I do not and now am unable to sync. Not sure if there’s much I can do except register anew, would still really appreciate some input. Thanks!
LMS, I would check once again very carefully if I used the right email address and the right password.
It has happened to me already a few times that ankiweb.net claimed that I don’t have an account. And I was just “It can’t be… It can’t be true…” After a long search and check, it turned out that the login credentials I had tried to enter before are not the correct ones. I mixed something up.

By the way on a Android phone (Ankidroid) you can go to Settings > Sync > AnkiWeb account
→ There you can see the email address you used for AnkiWeb.net.
On Iphone could work the same way.
On iPhone (AnkiMobile app) the steps are: top right gear icon (preferences) > Syncing > Logged In As
On Mac (Anki desktop app) the steps are: menu bar > Anki > Preferences… > Syncing > AnkiWeb Account
I can verify that you have an AnkiWeb account linked to the email address you used to post here – but it was just created today. However you also appear to have a 2nd account with a similar email address [the same, except with a . halfway through], created last year.
Both of those accounts look like they’ve synced nearly the same collection with the same devices, as recently as today.
If you’ve accidentally created 2 AnkiWeb accounts, the best time to fix that is right now. Keeping both of them around nearly guarantees they will be a source of confusion in the future.
- Pick which email address you want to use.
- Go through your devices one-by-one and make sure they are using that email address.
- For the other email address – go to your AnkiWeb account settings page and click Remove Account. [Please be careful, because it cannot be undone. Consider using an incognito/private browser window so you have to directly enter your credentials.]
- Go through your browsers one-by-one and clear the cache and cookies for
ankiweb.net. Then log in with the correct email address. You should also check that the correct email address is the only one in your saved credentials/passwords.
