I am currently on Version 25.07.5 (7172b2d2). I tried to update to new version 25.09 however my version is stuck on 25.07.5.
I searched the forum and tried the tip of deleting all other versions that I had on my laptop as well as clicking “replace” when I downloaded the new version, but it won’t update despite this. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
From within Anki, you are running Tools > Upgrade/Downgrade from the menu, correct?
That is the new way to update the version of Anki that is installed. (The actions you described performing merely update/replace the Anki launcher, not the main Anki installation.)

Running Tools > Upgrade/Downgrade will quit Anki and launch a terminal window with the Anki Launcher text menu that allows you to select a version to upgrade or downgrade to. (To upgrade to the latest version of Anki, just press Enter and then wait up to 10-20 minutes for the installation to complete.)
From searching the Anki documentation, it appears that the docs haven’t yet been updated with information about the new Tools > Upgrade/Downgrade menu item/procedure.
