Anki update and now it won't start

When launching via the console to see what is going wrong I get:

ImportError: DLL load failed while importing pythoncom: The specified module could not be found.

When trying to start it by double clicking on anki.exe, there is no error or anything. It just does not start. Reinstalling, updating windows, and restarting my computer changes nothing.

I followed the instructions under the “No error, but app does not appear” header.

The first option wasn’t helpful, because this started right after updating Anki.
The second wasn’t applicable since I’m in the US and my decimal separator is a decimal.

Downgrading to “the old 2.1.35-alternate build of Anki”, which is 3 years old now, worked great. Thank you for your help.
