Anki won't Open- No Error Message

Hello,
My Anki desktop won’t start, even after multiple reinstallations, uninstallations, restarting my computer, and trying different versions. The app doesn’t start- I get a blue circle, than then vanishes and no error message loads. This problem is not resolved by holding shift.

I put this into cmd.exe
cd \program files\anki & anki-console

I received the message- “ImportError: Module use of python36.dll conflicts with this version of Python”
How do I fix this?

I’d try the following steps:

  • Installing the latest Anki version (2.1.56 Qt6)

  • Starting Anki while holding down the Shift key to disable the add-ons

  • Removing the PYTHONPATH variable (if it exists) from the User or System environment variables

Open the Start menu, type in “env”, and choose “Edit the system environment variables”

  • Searching for python36.dll on the C: drive and uninstalling any program that contains it (or temporarily renaming the folder)
