Anki shows cards i already did yesterday as new

I use ankidroid and i finished cards for a deck that are supposed to show up 3/4 days later. Today when i opened anki, it showed these cards as new and the interval on these cards is 0. I also have anki on laptop, but i havent been on it much and have been only focusing on the phone app. Is this maybe because i have too much decks or cards?

I checked the app version (2.20.1) and even unstalled it and redownloaded it, but the issue persists.

The interval 0 is only showing up one specific deck that i did yesterday and not for others.

1.01 to 1.03 should have no new cards due

It might be duplicates or sibling cards. I suggest you try searching prop:rated=-1, which will show you all the cards you reviewed yesterday. Does anything show up?

Ref on searching: Searching - Anki Manual

Thank you for replying. But, no, it says ‘no cards’.

Tap on the “Search all decks” in that snackbar. It’s possible you did a different deck.

One more thing, I notice you say you just opened AnkiDroid. Is the screenshot from before you did any reviews for today? The footer text in your screenshot however says you studied ~29 cards for 19 minutes.

It shows the cards i did yesterday from other decks but not for 1.01 to 1.03.

And i did cards from another deck. I took the sc after going through them.

Then it means you are either seeing duplicates or siblings. You can search the text for a card to check if multiple cards show up. If they are duplicates, just delete them.

Well, if you’re sure you did cards from there it should have showed up in the search.

Oh thats true. But this doesnt have any duplicated or sibling cards. Is this maybe because i have too much cards in one deck with more subdecks?

Exactly, yesterday when i went through them, it said 0 due too. Btw i appreciate your help

Did you tap on a top-level deck to study? The way Anki would gather and show you cards depends on your deck settings. So, its possible to see your cards from all kinds of ways. By default, it should show cards from top subdecks though. See Deck Options - Anki Manual for info.

If you study from the top-level deck, that’s expected I think.

Yes i studied from top-level deck and worked my way down. If this is the case, do i have to go through these due cards again?

I think the confusion might be because you don’t know about daily limits? Are you thinking because yesterday it showed 0, you should have no new cards in that deck today? Let me know if I’m misunderstanding anything.

Yes, im thinking because it showed 0 for due, there should be no new cards today. Did i get this wrong?

Yeah, basically Anki shows you 20 new cards everyday. That’s the default setting. You can change that in deck options using the setting here: Deck Options - Anki Manual

New Cards/Day
This option controls how many new cards can be introduced each day you open the program. If you study fewer than the limit, or miss a day, the next day the counts will be back to their original setting: you won’t be given more cards than your limit allows.

Ohh i see, i think i know why they showed up now. Thank you :))
