Anki decks do not download all cards

Hello!

I‘ve had Anki ios and web for almost 2 years but have hardly been able to use it because the decks won’t download. when i try to download a deck online or someone sends one to me, anki says they have been downloaded, however almost all the images are missing and only around 10% of the cards are actually downloaded. I have tried many things and have updated and synced. I have also let some friends try. When I look at the settings for cards and pictures, it tells me that most pictures failed to download, it doesn’t however say this for the cards, even though there are many missing. All I can do then is delete all pictures. I did this and retried, but it happens every time.

I really need anki for studying and would appreciate some help!! Thank you!! Emma

  1. After you download the shared file, are you also importing the deck into the app?
  2. Do you generally import in AnkiMobile or desktop Anki? If one of them is having issues, have you tried the other to see if it does something different?
  1. Anki reports back the number of notes that were imported in the post-import report. Where are you looking besides that and you see only 10% of those notes were really imported?
  2. Are you sure that the deck included all of the images? Can you give me a link to a publicly shared deck [from Shared Decks site] that didn’t import all of the images it claimed to have?
  1. I don’t know where you’re looking to see this information.
  2. Are you looking for the images on the same device where you imported the deck? If it’s a different device, it’s possible you’re not allowing enough time for large amounts of media to sync.
  3. You have over 2.5 GB of media in your AnkiWeb account. Do you regularly run Check Media and delete the unused media?
