Account set to default, all decks and progress gone

Hello and thank you for taking time to read this.

I have used Anki for years on different devices over the years, however I haven’t used it in the last 2 years, but when I got a deletion warning to my email I immediately downloaded the program on my new Macbook (also since I want to start using Anki again this month). I logged in and synched using the download option. However the only thing I get is an empty account; no history, no decks, no statistics at all, etcetera.

I have read similar threads on this forum and understand that this problem would happen if I would’ve mixed up the download/upload option but there is just no way I would’ve done that mistake since I’m always very careful with that… So I guess what I’m asking is if you have already deleted my account data because I’ve been inactive? Do you have my data stored somewhere? I would appreciate it a lot really, it’d be too sad to start over from scratch.

I’m looking forward to your reply and thank you very much in advance.

While you’re waiting for the experts, you can look on your previous machine for the automatic backups.

My backups are here:

C:\Users<me>\AppData\Roaming\Anki2\User 1

You might also have external backups, such as on a pen drive.

Thanks

Your account expired about a year ago. You likely performed some action after that which caused your (empty) account be marked active, which resulted in another expiry notification recently. You may be able to recover the data if you have a local copy: AnkiWeb account removal - Frequently Asked Questions
