Account issues - confirmation email undeliverable

I purchased the AnkiMobile app and also set up an account on AnkiWeb. I received the following message:

Email Sent
We’ve sent you a confirmation email, but it has not yet been received by your email provider. You can reload this page to check on progress.
In most cases emails should arrive within a few minutes, but in some cases it may take up to 24 hours for the mail to arrive

I waited 24 hours. Nothing. Checked spam etc etc. Tried again and received notification that the email couldn’t be delivered to my domain. Very strange. The email from the forum made it no problem.

Tried a different email. Same thing.

Now I can’t even get into the account I set up.

Can someone from Anki please resolve this account issue. Thanks

Welcome to the forum. I can’t help you get back into your account, but the folks who can are pretty reliable at responding, so I expect you will get a response as soon as they are available. Meanwhile, this will give some background to the likely problem:


I’m afraid this is not something that can be fixed on our end - it’s your email provider that is blocking AnkiWeb, because of a third-party filtering service called Cyren. Signing up for a free email somewhere is probably the fastest way to work around the problem, as chances are your email host will not be willing to fix the problem on their end.

I tried a different email address (different domain name) and got the same error

The confirmation email from AnkiWeb worked fine with the original email address I used

Without the web account, then the app I purchased for the phone is not useable

If I give you the details, can’t you access the account and activate it?


The point of the check is to ensure you’ll be able to receive future emails, like if you need to reset your password, so it does not make sense to bypass it. If you message me your other email address on, I can look up the reason why it may not have been delivered.
