5 year old account suddenly gone

Hello, I am currently on mobile and trying to do my daily reviews. I made my Anki account almost exactly 5 years ago (Aug 30 2020).

As I tried to sync my Anki (since I just added several hundred cards from computer yesterday), it said it had a problem verifying my account and asked me to re-login on Ankiweb

I did so and it said wrong password. So I sent a reset password request, resetted it, logged in using the new password, and it still didn’t work. It says wrong password.

Even when logging into these forums, my original email has a green checkmark, but my username was already taken. What’s going on here?

Your account seems fine. I suggest you try reset your password again, and start with something simple to rule out any problems with typos/problematic characters/etc.

This forum uses a separate login, and is not at all connected to ankiweb.net.

Very strange. I resetted my password again and it worked.
