Why GIFs are added as an static image when drag-and-drop?

Adding a lot of GIFs, I was wondering why they are considered just like any image format (jpg, png, webp…), meaning that when they’re dragged-and-dropped, they’ll will added as an jpg or png image, depending on the settings. It’s a bit annoying to have to use the “attach picture” button to get the GIF to be added as it is.

Is there a particular reason behind this choice?

Maybe you’re using ImageResizer add-on - https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/1214357311

It removes animation from gifs.

I can’t reproduce it after starting Anki while holding down the shift key. Either downloading gifs or drag-and-dropping them from the web browser works for me.

Oh boy, it was that simple, thank you!
