What does (oldest cards first) mean in insertion order?

What does (oldest cards first) refer to in this drop-down? I don’t understand the reference to ‘oldest cards’ when adding new cards. Does it mean cards will be studied in ‘oldest first’ order? Which settings do I need to ensure that cards are studied in the order that they were added to the deck?

As you saw in that explanation, this setting has to do with the position in the New-queue when the card is created. Cards will be queued up in the order they are created, with “oldest cards first” at the front of the queue.

To determine which New cards will be gathered for a study session, the system then turns to the New card gather order. Cards can be gathered based on their queue position, on the reverse of their queue position, or more randomly – and then the group of cards that is gathered can be sorted in different ways as well (New card sort order).
