When I try to download and install Anki, I get the following error message:
did not find executable at
C:\Users\gar\AppData\Local\AnkiProgramFiles\python\cpython-3.13.5-windows-x86_64-none\pythonw.exe: The system cannot find the path specified.
I tried downloading the python available through the download instructions with Anki and disabled my antivirus software and neither of those has helped resolved the issue.
Any suggestions?
You shouldn’t need to download python separately, the Anki launcher/installer will take care of that.
Have you looked to see if that path/folder/file exist on your system?
Is this the first time you’ve used the new launcher process (introduced in version 25.07)?
Update: found the solution. Had to run the instillation as the administrator, no idea why my computer was not doing that automatically.
