The margin will appear on large screens like iPads, but is missing on narrow screens to maximise the amount of text that will fit, which is useful in some of the submenus and for more verbose languages.

I see, so it seems that it’s just the rounded list items sticking to the edge that give me a strange feeling, since in iOS, rounded elements all have margins, and only right-angled elements stick to the edge. Regardless, Anki works very well as a tool, and I am happy to have purchased this app.
