Is there a way of only tagging the reversed cards without the “normal” ones also getting the same tag?
Tags are attached to notes, so no unfortunately.
However, you can use the search card:2 to get the second card type (which by default is the reversed one).

But I’m wondering if there is a way to tag the reverse cards because I want to filter them out and focus more on the “normal” cards because I’m studying mandarin and have a lot of test on knowing the characters but not on translating them. so I would therefore like to focus on remembering the character when given the translation. Is there another way for me to filter the reverse cards out instead of trying to tag them?
You can filter anything you can search for in the browser.
An alternative is to use the “Basic (optional reversed card)”.
