I’m using Anki to study a foreign language. I’ve set up my deck to use “basic (and reversed card)” because I want to be able to study the cards in both directions, i.e. display question, and then answer, or alternatively display answer, and then question.
For the life of me I canot figure out how to reverse the order of display. When I go to “study” it displays the defaut order. But how do I trigger the reverse order?
All videos I search online are outdated. Thanks for any help.
I’m also excited to see the possibility of using tags. I’ve tagged my language entries as “noun” / “verb” / “conjunction” / “idiom” / chapter 1" / “chapter 2” / etc.
How do I get Anki to display cards only in one tag group?
Thanks for any help here. Regards, Jeff Guynn.
PS: by the way, I’m using Anki on my desktop (Windows 10).
The Reverse of the cards are thrown in with the mix: the result is as if you had twice the number of cards in your deck, one with your Front showing and one in the other direction. Hence the distinction in Anki between Notes and Cardshttps://docs.ankiweb.net/getting-started.html#notes–fields.
Using tags is a great way to study a subset of your deck. You create a Filtered Deck for what is called Custom Study. Just filter it by the tag you choose. Another way to do things, if you have tagged the content by chapter, is to upload the cards in chapter order and then to study that deck in the Order in which it was Added, not in random order.
