Used devices: one IOS with russian interface, two IOS with english interface and one macbook with english interface.
We imported shared deck EN-RU where front = english word, back = russian translation. However, deck was imported in IOS with english interface with flipped order (front template = {{back}}), while IOS with russian interface and macbook with english interface weren’t impacted.
Attempt to flip front with back on IOS device failed with some javascript error.
I tried this deck myself, and got the exact same results when I imported it on iOS/AnkiMobile, with an English interface, and when I imported it on Windows/desktop Anki, with an English interface –
This is exactly what I would expect from a deck that is designed this way. [I can’t test the Russian interface import or macOS import – but there shouldn’t be a difference, and both of my imports fell on the same side of your outcomes.] If you’re importing the exact same APKG file, there really isn’t a point in the import process where how data is assigned to fields, or the contents of the card templates can change.
Are you sure that you download the APKG from the site each time? Or is there a chance that you “fixed” the deck after one of the imports, and exported your own APKG that you imported to other devices (or synced via AnkiWeb)?
In AnkiMobile, when you see “Flip” on the preview screen, it’s just for flipping the previewed card between front and back. Unlike desktop Anki, the AnkiMobile template editor doesn’t have a “Flip” button to swap the card templates. You either have to manually copy-paste to fix the templates, or sync to desktop to “Flip” the templates.
I’m aware of one JavaScript error that impacts preview – when you enter preview, click Back, and then enter preview again. However that should be fixed in AnkiMobile 25.09 – so check your version.
Did you also delete the note type before reimporting? If you had already fixed this note type in your install, and then you imported these notes again – depending on the import options you chose, they might be using the fixed version of the note type instead of the original version.
The cleanest test would be to create a fresh (temporary) Profile on your Mac – Profiles - Anki Manual – and import the deck there.
