My name is Seth Bowman, and I am completely locked out of my Anki account.
My tablet shows the error: “Syncing failed, because your email address needs to be (re)confirmed.”
When I go to ankiweb.net to fix it, the “Log In” button is completely unresponsive. I have tried tapping it and even pressing “Enter” on my keyboard, but nothing happens. It seems the website code is frozen for my account.
Account Email:
Since the website is broken on my end, could you please manually verify/confirm my email address in your system? I have attached a photo of the error and my frozen login screen.
Thank you for your help in getting me back to my Japanese and Chinese studies!
I can see your AnkiWeb account, and yes the email address is due to be verified – Email verification - Anki FAQs – but no, I can’t do it for you.
[You should feel free to remove the parts of your message that display your email address, if you don’t want it published on the internet.]
Things you can try at the site –
Retype your email address and password in those fields. If they were populated by a password manager, they might not have triggered the site to respond. Sometimes even just clicking in each of those fields is enough.
Try clearing the cache and cookies in your browser for ankiweb.net – or use a private/incognito window, a different browser, or a different device.
Well. The problem is with the blue botton is i can’t click on it. It is like its broken or there.is no link inside of the button to move to the next page. It is just blank. When i click on it, it doesn’t do anything.
Why you can not do anything? What i should do from her?
Thank you for your time. Hope that hear from you soon
Could you please list the different web browsers and devices you’ve already tried using?
Do you have access to other computers that you can use, perhaps at a school or library? Perhaps try using one to see if that might resolve the issue.
(At the moment, I see this as more of a problem with your web browser. Not a problem with the Anki website itself or with your Anki account.)
The behavior I see on my system is:
The Log In button starts as disabled, with empty email address and password fields.
After I type in my email address, the Log In button is still disabled.
As soon as I type any character into the password field, the Log In button is enabled.
An interesting experiment to try would be to see if you see the same behavior on your system. Does the Log In button become enabled? And, if you continue typing your password into the password field, does the Log In button somehow become disabled at any point? Do you notice that there is any specific character that reliably causes the Log In button to become disabled?
I understand the problem. The button won’t be active until it recognizes that there is text in both the email address and password fields. That’s why I suggested the things I did. If you aren’t going to try them, there’s not much else we can do.
