Hi folks,
I’m getting this error when launching Anki on my Windows 11 work laptop:
A network error occurred.
Error details: error sending request for url (): error trying to connect: tcp connect error:
…
(os error 10060)
Anki Version 2.1.65 (aa9a734f) with Qt 6.4.3.
When I work remotely using my home’s Wifi, I use a pre-configured corporate VPN client and have no issues launching Anki and syncing with my progress, but when I work in-person, at my desk in the office, and connect my laptop to the office Intranet via Ethernet cable I am unable to connect to ankiweb and sync my progress.
I have tried adding anki to the list of apps allowed on the Windows Firewall then rebooted the machine but this problem persists.
I feel strongly this must be something on the Proxy config, can anyone guide me through the Windows 11 Proxy server exception?
My company has a configuration script for the proxy installed on every workstation. Every other setting is disabled or not active in Windows’s Proxy settings.
EDIT 1
- just checked both firewalls (Windows’ domain FW and Panda’s) as suggested in the Anki manual “Error establishing a secure connection.” when syncing" chapter – both seem disabled yet error 10060 persists. Any other suggestion?
- Also tried the work around explained in ‘Syncing failed: Connection timed out’ errors when syncing chapter of the Anki manual, ie connecting via office Wifi rather than the Ethernet cable – still getting error 10060.
- the ‘mtr’ tool’s link is dead, any alternative application to detect packet loss on Windows? [WinMTR download | SourceForge.net]
