Synchronizing media

I am unable to completely synchronize my Anki app on my phone to my Anki on my computer, all my decks with flashcards are made mostly with images/screenshots so whenever I try using my phone, the sync button never stops loading and I’m unable to use my flashcards on the application. How can I get this to work?

In your case, you have over 17 GB of media in your account, so that could take a long time and/or several tries to sync to a new device. If any of those files are large, it could cause syncing to stall.

You should use Tools > Check Media > Delete Unused Media [look in ⚙️ Preferences on AnkiMobile] to clean that up, because there’s a good chance some of that is unnecessary. However, if you do that when your devices aren’t yet in sync, you can delete the files but then Anki might “helpfully” restore them for you.

First, run the media check on both devices to see how far apart the results are. That should help you figure out whether to (A) keep trying sync until media sync is completed, and then delete-unused, or (b) delete-unused now, and then start over with the sync process by deleting the collection (or at least the media) on the new device. [I can give you more details, but at a high level, those are your options.]
