Hello, I understand that other people have asked this before and I tried reading the replies there but it seems that the only way to retrieve my old decks is to say it here so a staff member can help me. I wanted to study a pre-made deck so I downloaded it but it went onto my local laptop Anki and I wanted it on Anki web so I synced from local to ankiweb, which destroyed all of my previous decks. Is there any way I can fix this? Thank you so much and please reply soon as I need this for my exams…
I can see the AnkiWeb account connected with the email address you used to post here. It looks like that account was created last week, and in the past day or 2 it has synced with both desktop Anki on Windows and with AnkiDroid. Did you have a version of your collection in your AnkiWeb account that didn’t exist on any of your devices?
I had my other decks in both pc and my mobile phone ankidroid account. Is that what you mean?
Yes.
If you haven’t synced that wrong collection to those devices/profiles yet – you can force a one-way sync [Preferences/Settings > Syncing] and upload to AnkiWeb to restore your full collection to the server. Then when you sync your other devices, download from AnkiWeb.
If you have already synced – the automatic backups on your devices are the best place for you to recover your collection from. Restoring an Automatic Backup (Recovering from Data Loss) - Anki FAQs
Then, to study that pre-made deck, you can just import it into your existing collection.
