Sync issues (fake cards?)

Yesterday I changed the field of one of my cards and anki (computer version) gave a message saying that this will cause a change in the database of my cards. I did this anyways but did not press sync afterwards.

Today I used the website version and made flashcards. When I came to my computer the flash cads were not there. I remade those flashcards but then it said I have duplicates. The duplicates it shows me when given the prompt do not appear when I press browse.

I have synced the computer and website version until the number of flash cards in the deck show the same number and each deck has the same cards.

However the flash cards are the same when I browse but the duplicate error still occurs. I’m going to give it a day to see if it can solve itself. Any thoughts?

At that point you had 2 separate versions of your collection that were not mergeable – one on desktop with the new field – one on AnkiWeb with the new notes/cards.

  1. Did you eventually complete the one-way sync and upload what was on desktop Anki to overwrite what was on AnkiWeb?
  2. Before we dig too far into the notes/cards you can’t find that still show as duplicates – have you run Tools > Check Database lately? Do that, and see if it helps.
