Suddenly switch to anki main page after finishing a deck

I’ve done to the Butler, however, after that, I’ve noticed there are been problems each time I finish a sub deck. It suddenly returns me to the main page and I cannot click on anything unless I click on decks and it started to become annoying because each time I finish a sub, it becomes the shift.

what is the butler?

It is set of add ones that you download

Probably an issue with the add-on. Have you tried contacting the author?

This is the issue I don’t know which add one that caused could be bcz I have many decks there some decks with 20 and other with 40 000 cards ?

Your description of what’s happening isn’t very clear. It sounds like you’re being returned to the Decks list when you finish a deck instead of the “Congratulations” page?

The best thing you can do to see if an add-on is causing the issue is #2 on the Troubleshooting checklist – Troubleshooting - Anki Manual – hold down Shift until you see the confirmation message.

If it’s still happening the same way with all of your add-ons disabled, then please respond with –

  1. A clearer description of what you are expecting to happen and what is happening instead.
  2. Paste what you get when you click Help > About > Copy debug info.

You are right as you describe it I did find which add one cause the anki freez and has nothing to do with butlers add ones it was the Anki leaderboard before there was this add one then it was stoped till some created again because it was good add one and when disable the add one the anki freeze did stop. I never heard some report the issue because it is still new add one

Sweet! Are you using the fork created by Shigeyuki?

Edit: Yes, it’s @shigeyuki’s fork.

Created by fork by shiga

If I’m not wrong, you can keep the add-on disabled and only sync with server when you want?

Tangent: too many decks/tags can slow down Anki, something to keep in mind.

Yeah if you kept it disabled it will not cause freeze. I noticed that especially when I search in browser it anki lag I guess bcz I have way too many flashcards

Hello, thank you for the problem report and mention.

Maybe you are the same user who reported the problem on the add-on page? Except for that comment, no similar problems have been reported so far, this add-on is a new custom version but the original add-on has been in use for about 4 years so I think it is stable (at the moment leaderboard has 1284 active users).

If the problem is occurring in the browser, it is not caused by Leaderboad, this add-on does nothing in the browser.(probably)

This addon needs to communicate with the server so the loading occurs at these times:

  1. When you start Anki
  2. When you open the leaderboard
  3. When the review is finished (optional)

If it freezes at other times it may be something another problem, the loading time is about 1 second on my device. If it is taking longer than that, you may have a problem with your internet connection or the server may be temporarily slow.

So please try to enable Leaderboad only and disable all other add-ons and see if the problem reproduces it, if the problem does not occur, then another add-on is interfering.
Also, please try to disable all add-ons and see if the problem occurs, if it does, I think the deck is the cause.

If not, it is probably another problem, please contact me again so I can look into it, thank you.

Hallo Shigeyiki

Yes I was the same user who reported the issue about the anki freeze as the comment describe, yeah the thing with slowing browser that is because I have over 40 000 cards. the Add one may interfere with others but I am not sure which could be. I believe the original Anki LeaderBoard was removed it was stated. Also if it was due to other add ones it could be from add ones by the butler

Thanks

I think 40,000 cards should work fine, medical students typically use tens of thousands of shared decks.

So far I don’t know the cause of the problem, if I find the cause of the problem and solve it I’ll let you know, thank you.

I have 30K cards and it works fine. You need to look at deck and tag trees instead. Too many nested deck/tags slow down Anki from what I know.

I probably found the wrong code that caused this bug and fixed it, thank you very much.
