Review Heatmap - "no cards due" glitch

All the future days on my anki have several cards due, displaying that on the homescreen. Eg: Tomorrow theres 200 due etc. However, for the entire year it has said there is 0 cards due on the Sunday 5th of October. Even if i manually make a card due on that day, it is successful, however when i click to see if there are any cards due on Sunday 5th of October, it still says 0 cards due. Now that this day is actually soon im worried its going to be glitched and i wont be able to do anything.

Is October 5 a meaningful date where you live – like perhaps the date of a seasonal time change?

I don’t think you actually have 0 cards scheduled that day, but take a look by searching directly in Browse instead – prop:due=3 (give or take a day, depending on what day it is for you now).

I note that some states in Australia observe +1 hour Daylight Saving Time starting on the first Sunday in October at 2:00 am. This year, it is on October 5, 2025.

I think we might be seeing the known Review Heatmap add-on bug: Australia Daylight savings messing up with the daily streak/reviews on x date. ¡ Issue #128 ¡ glutanimate/review-heatmap ¡ GitHub

I’m not sure how the add-on is programmed to handle things if “Next Day Starts At” is set to “2 hours past midnight”. As I understand it, on October 5, 2025 in those parts of Australia, the clock jumps directly from 01:59:59 to 03:00:00, The time is never exactly 02:00:00. So, there may be no “2 hours past midnight” on that day, depending on how things are implemented.

I wonder what the OP’s “Next Day Starts At” is set to, and whether setting it to some other time might result in the bug not occurring?

Yes, I was thinking it’s related to that as well.

Also in Australia - I’m having the same issue where there are no cards due and when I starting review my cards for today (Oct 5th) it adds onto Oct 4th, not sure if that’s what is happening to you as well. I’ve tried changing my day starts to 00:00 but unfortunately still only adding onto Oct 4th. Just adding a comment into this thread in case we come across a solution

It just looks in Heatmap like there are no cards scheduled for that day, but there actually are. It’s a display issue, but it won’t affect studying (or your Heatmap streak).

Understood, that’s reassuring. I was more so confused why it kept added my ‘reviewed’ cards to Oct 4th, instead of Oct 5th. Hopefully the time line shifts back to normal tomorrow. Thanks!

As I said in the back in the Spring when we identified this as an issue for Egypt –

There are enough variables in this that it’s not going to be a quick fix …

If you want to share your data with the developer to help him work toward a solution, you can find instructions for how to do that on GitHub – Repetition mismapping and other issues related to timezone handling · Issue #151 · glutanimate/review-heatmap · GitHub .

Ahh yep, I see what you mean now, where it’ll be blank on the display but the streak is still there - not a big deal for me. Thanks again for your help!
