Relearning Cards Interval

I am having an issues with my Anki deck where mature cards that I get wrong are reset as if they were just unlocked and I have to work to get them built back up to mature.

I had it previously setup to where if I got the card wrong, I could relearn it but the interval was faster than if I had just unlocked the card.

For example:

I have a mature card at 2.3 months that I get wrong. It then goes to 0 and the interval goes back to 1 day, 2 days, 4days, etc until I have it built back up. In the past I had it to where it would automatically have the next interval as maybe a 7 days after I got a mature card wrong.

I’m not sure how I had this setup, but would appreciate the help.

2.3 months is 70 days. 7 days is 0.1 of that.

If you are using the old scheduler, see New Interval in deck options: Deck Options - Anki Manual

If you are using FSRS, then either your FSRS parameters make the card difficult enough to reset the interval so much (maybe you need to Optimize if it’s wrong), or you have set Relearning steps to those days.

Nobody says ā€œunlockedā€. Studying - Anki Manual says ā€œWhen learning new cards, or when relearning cards that you have forgotten,ā€ and ā€œconverted into a review card (it ā€˜graduates’).ā€ I think we say ā€œintroducedā€ sometimes Searching - Anki Manual
