How to change intervals?

Hi, I used Anki starting in 2021 but was inactive for so long that my data was deleted. I opened the app and I updated it, but now everything has changed. For new cards, I used to have repeat intervals of Again 1m, Hard 10m, Good 1 day, Easy 3 days, and I believe I went in and specifically changed my settings to make it that way. Now, I was able to change Again to 1m, but nothing else. My intervals are hard 1h, good 2h, and easy 2d. Is it possible to change it to how I used to have it? I just want what I used to have! Please help, I’m not tech savvy! Thank you!

you can set your learning steps to 1m, I’m not sure what it will do with hard, probably aroundn 2m, and turn on fsrs it will predict your best good interval.

I suggest you read Deck Options - Anki Manual first.

It’s not possible to precisely specify every interval you see but here is what you can do:

  1. Again: It’s the first number in learning steps. So, the first number should be 1m.
  2. Hard: It can’t be changed directly without affecting the other intervals. See the link I posted.
  3. Good: It’s the second number in learning step but it sounds like you want your card graduated so change graduating interval.
  4. Easy: It’s the easy interval in deck options.

Here’s how you change the settings:

  1. Click on :gear: icon on right side of your deck.
  2. Go to Learning steps. Set to 1m.
  3. Set Easy interval to 3d.
  4. Set Graduating interval to 1d.

You should consider turning on FSRS. You’ll lose control over the easy interval and graduating interval but FSRS is more optimal at deciding the intervals than us.

Explanation of FSRS: Its a new algorithm set to replace SM2. FSRS uses machine learning techniques to be able to better predict your memory patterns.
