In the browsing window, when using find and replace, even if “All Fields” is selected, “Tags” are not included in the replacement. I don’t know if this is intentional or a bug.
Even if I choose “All Fields” and then perform the replacement, I still have to select “Tags” once more and use the replacement again.
According to my understanding, since “All Fields” is located at the top of “Tags,” it should include the ones below, and although “Tags” is not an ordinary field, it can still be considered a field, right?
So, should “All Fields” include “Tags” or fix this bug? Thanks for your work.
Fair point. I was also confused when I first used this.
However, including Tags in the All Fields option (which is selected by default) won’t be desirable because the tags can be shared with other notes and editing the tag name in some notes may break the link between the notes.
The user can choose Tags when they really want to edit them.
So, I think that wording is the only thing that needs changing.
a dropdown menu that allows you to specify where Anki should look for text to replace: in a note’s tags (requires Anki 2.1.45+), in all fields, or just in a specific field (only fields belonging to a selected note will be listed).
I don’t know if it can be clarified more than that.
The problem with this is that “Tags” isn’t a field.
