I just updated to the 25.02 version of Anki, and I have a specific problem with one of my decks.
Only for one deck (my Italian deck), when setting it up for using only those cards done after Oct 1 2024 for FSRS optimizing, it will show only 397 reviews: not only will this not increase with more reviews done, but beforehand in 24.11, this had thousands of reviews and was well-optimized (around 4-5%, now it is hovering around 15%). Why is this the case?
This is the only deck that is affected like this: all the others seem to be fine. Thanks so much for any help
N.B. āIgnore cards reviews beforeā does not just ignore reviews before that date. It will completely ignore cards reviewed before that date including any reviews for the card that happen after that date.
This means that with your settings FSRS can only optimise using reviews for cards that you reviewed for the first time after 01/10/2024.
If this deck contains mostly old cards there may not be many cards that are not disqualified.
Iāve looked at the git history but Iām afraid Iām not too familiar with this part of the codebase.
I see some changes were made to the āignore beforeā¦ā functionality but Iām not sure if what you are seeing is a deliberate change in behaviour, an old bug that was fixed in 25.02, or a new bug introduced in 25.02.
So if Iām not mistaken in understanding, the 24.11 version (with 6000 reviews and 5% RMSE) was a bug, and it was the 25.02 version that is fixed and the true optimization?
