"Please sync again" Message not going away

When downloading the AnkiHub cards and syncing a deck from their website, this message popped up: “Please sync again. If this message keeps appearing, please post on the support website.” I’m able to access my decks on the website, but not on my macbook’s app. I’m not able to get rid of the error message, and I’m not able to sync again as well.

I saw another query on this, but I’m not able to check anything under Tools, and it’s not letting me select anything under Preferences.
