Most all of my cards use Cloze Deletion and I can’t figure out for the life of me what happened to them or how to fix them.
What you see only affects this one card. Here’s what to do:
- Open the Editor (pressing “E”)
- Look whether there’s a “Cloze 1”. This means there is somewhere this character sequence: “{{c1::” and “}}” in the fields of the note.
- If there is, try deleting the character sequence it and rewriting it
- if there is no such sequence, you can safely delete the card (By clicking “Tools > Empty Cards…”)
Thank you for responding. I don’t see anything on the card when I go in the editor. This has happened to so many of my cards and all of their questions seem to have vanished.
Hm, I’m afraid I don’t really have enough information to suggest what happened then. If you don’t mind, you could export (as Anki Deck Package .apkg format), upload the deck and share it with me, and I’ll have a look at it.
Henrik,
Thank you so much. I couldn’t upload it here so I saved it in this Google Drive.
Just had a look at it. I’m sorry to say, it’s in a state where it cannot be regenerated. It seems like the Text field of the Cloze card type field was deleted. At this state, the only thing you can do is recover from a backup.
To recover from a backup, open “File > Switch Profile”, and choose “Open Backup…”. There, you can choose a backup which is sufficiently in the past, and recover to this state.
