Yesterday my friend logged onto my macbook with her anki and with my log in and our flashcards synced however she has gotten them back but i can’t remove her account from my account and i don’t want to make more flashcards because it keeps saying that “theres a conflict between decks on this device and ankiweb you must choose which version to keep” and i don’t want to press anything because i don’t want my friends or my flashcards to disappear

I think disentangle these, we’ll have to be really clear what apps/devices you’re talking about – and what AnkiWeb accounts you’re talking about – and whose collection is on each one right now? [E.g., my collection is on my macbook, my friend’s collection is on her phone, etc.]
my decks are on my macbook and my friends decks are on her ankiweb on her ipad. i have all my flashcards on mine and she has all her own flashcards on her own
That sound like everything is fine then. What’s wrong? Which of these is not correct?
You have your collection on your Mac.
You have your collection in your AnkiWeb account.
Your Mac is logged in to your AnkiWeb account.
Your Mac and AnkiWeb are in sync.
Friend has her collection on her iPad.
Friend has her collection in her AnkiWeb account.
Her iPad is logged in to her AnkiWeb account.
Her iPad and AnkiWeb are in sync.
basically everything is correct however her account is still logged onto my anki and i can’t sync my flashcards it doesn’t enable me to
You can just log out, no? See:
So, this one is wrong?
Your Mac is logged in to
yourher AnkiWeb account.
As suggested – you should log out.
my mac is logged into both of our accounts
That isn’t an error, it’s a warning and you need to make a choice – but I suggest only clicking Cancel here for now.
That’s not possible. After you Cancel out of the sync, go to Preferences > Syncing. Whose email is in the AnkiWeb Account box? If it’s hers, click Log Out, then you can log in with your own AnkiWeb Account.
And then you can sync. It still might be a one-way sync, so you need to read that message and determine which side has the most recent changes. If that’s your Mac, choose Upload to AnkiWeb. However, in your initial question, you said that “our flashcards synced” – so if you have any of your friend’s data (or entirely your friend’s data?) on your Mac, you want the version from AnkiWeb, so choose Download from AnkiWeb.
i logged out of my friends ankiweb account. and now it’s only my account so that means it’s hurt my account so shoukd i just upload from ankiweb cuz that’s the last place i had made flashcards from
but also another question is that her profile is on my account can i remove it off my account cuz im my mac i have two profiles, hers and mine and ive logged out her account and in her profile section and my profile section it is showing all my flashcards none of her and on her ankiweb on her ipad she has all her flashcards on her ipad. so if i delete her profile do u think it’ll go back to normal and her flashcards will remain on her account?
I feel like I answered that question above.
This is the first time you’ve mentioned that you made a separate profile. If she did all of this in a different profile, then you should just switch back to your own profile. And then you can delete the profile she made. It won’t have any impact on her AnkiWeb account.
ok so if i delete her profile it won’t impact any of her stuff?
That’s correct. Once you’re logged out of her AnkiWeb account (and make sure that both of your profiles are logged out), nothing you do on this computer can reach any of her stuff.
if i log out of my account then when i click sync it will tell me to log in. so for now should i just delete her profile off my account?
Correct.
If you open File > Switch Profiles – do you have 2 separate profiles there? And is one of them the usual profile that you use and sync to your account, which has all of your data (and none of your friend’s data)? And is the other one a profile that your friend created and synced to her account, which has all of her data?
In that case, you never had a problem from the start. Your friend created a 2nd profile to use with her collection. Her profile has never been “on [your] account” – it’s just on your computer. She’s done now, so you can delete that profile.
In your own profile, make sure all of your data is what you expect, and that you are syncing with your own AnkiWeb account.
so yes there’s 2 profiles on my account and my profile has my flash cards however on my friends profile there’s my flash cards but on her ankiweb she has her own flash cards on there
An AnkiWeb account cannot have 2 profiles. What you’re saying is impossible.
Did you change the profile that your friend created to sync with your AnkiWeb account instead? That’s the only way it could have your data.
But that’s just about the data in a local profile on your computer. A profile can sync with any AnkiWeb account, but it can only sync with one.
